Underpinning is the process of excavating under the existing foundations of a house and extending the foundations to a new depth. This process strengthens the structure of the house and maximizes its usable square footage.

1. What kind of services do you provide?
We provide many different services at Apex, such as; interlocking (new and repair), flagstone installation, natural stone installation, landscape design and underpinning.
2. Do we need to stay home during the process?
It is not necessary to remain at home during the process. We sign a contract beforehand so both parties are clear on the job, therefore we strive to complete the job with as little upheaval as possible.
3. How long have you been in business?
We are a family run business that has run for 25 years.
4. Am I as the customer responsible for the disposal of materials?
No you are not. Apex will take care of all removal of materials at the end of your job and we ensure to leave your job site clean and tidy.
5. How deep should you dig to underpin your basement?
It all depends on current height of your basement and home owner desires. In most cases the average underpinning is between 2 and 2.5 feet.
6. How long does it take to lower the basement?
All basements vary in size and height. All details play a big role in the process of underpinning.
7. How much do drawings and permits cost?
Cost for services of an architect to complete drawings and obtain permits depends on the level of difficulty of the job. Please contact us for a quote.
